Being Clean Is Not Bad For Your Health See Funny Guy Ron McGehee on Comics on Comics
Los Angeles, CA - As a comedian Ron McGehee doesn't exactly fit the mould of a standup comic, he is happy to be labeled "Clean" and as comfortable at a comedy club as he is on a church stage. McGehee has made a name on the circuit with his hilarious anecdotes that poke fun of his childhood, everyday life and his inherent insight on pop culture. His positive and energetic clean comedy has won him rave reviews in both the secular and Christian markets.
An exceptional character performer, as an actor McGehee brings a selection of many personalities to life giving him opportunities to work in film, television and the internet. His latest project, a web-commercial for Quest Software, will reach a broad audience through online advertising. Release date will soon be announced on McGehee's website.
With McGehee's charismatic personality and flexibility to adapt to the atmosphere, who better to join a round table on comics and pop culture? On October 8th Ron, along with Boris Hamilton (The Late, Late Show, Comedy Central), creator Richard Starkings (Elephantmen), Ed Salazar (UCB's Tournament of Nerds), taped a video podcast that you can now see at www.comicsoncomics.com
McGehee hails from Hollywood, where Christians continue to shake things up. With his desire to make faith based films and his innovative writing skills, he is always testing the waters with uplifting content, yet with just enough edginess to be modern. McGehee believes the timing is right for Christians in the industry and his hope is to make an impact through heartfelt films.
A producer of Non Toxic Comedy, Ron McGehee has headlined at such venues as the World Famous Improv Comedy Clubs and The Comedy Store. He has made a number of guest television appearances including NBC’s “Last Comic Standing 2”, Comedy Central, ABC Family, and Oxygen Network and has also written for The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn, The Carson Daily Show, and Jimmy Kimmel. He tours throughout the U.S. performing stand up and speaking at churches and colleges bringing his life lessons and hilarious multi cultural humor to audiences nationally. He is also busy as a screenwriter and contributing writer in many magazines. You can also read his national syndicated column “Headline Humor” in The Christian Press Newspapers. McGehee recently filmed ENGAGED, a film that accurately captures neurotic predicaments of an engagement gone bad. ENGAGED is set to hit the festival circuit with a scheduled premiere at CINERGY 2008 held at the Japan America Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on November 1, 2008.
